Reflected Truth

Yes pretty one it’s yourself you see
From this truth reflected you’ll never be free
Look hard and you’ll find the truth you hide
The suffering you cause that you denied
A twisted view of the evil you hold
Guilt from the stories and lies that you’ve told
You cannot escape when you look at me
For the true you is here and will always be
This mask that you wear with a smile on your face
Hides the venomous actions to cover disgrace
So look hard and long at your own self appeal
Ask yourself this now how do you feel

This is an intesne write, something that I feel everyone can relate to, we all wear masks at sometime, I think it is because we are really afraid of showing people what we really are, why would anyone want to be judged? This is a great write, thanks for sharing. Also thanks for commenting on my poem as well.

You have penned an amazingly deep and haunting poem here.
Ironicly, it speaks the exact thoughts I have been having in recent weeks.

Check line #9, I think you meant 'wear'? Unlees it was that you meant the mask is the "ware's" being passed off?
