~Frozen In Freedom's Change~

Utopia ushered, lost in breathless sighs;
Magnificence stranded in accented air,
as the west wind heeds the larks advice
and leaves its essence in a forgotten lair

        Nightingales chimed at the strike of midnight,
        watching the newly departed shadows alight...

Thin strands of fleece, may soon seperate
the sparks ignited in love's lunar blaze;
Heart's charred within as ashes temperate
humid hallucinations of estranged praise.

        A raven brooding as snow flakes dance in rime,
        lavish thoughts treasured, now lost with time...

Scene set to perfection, of dusk's demise;
Eerie silence diverges, in dreamlike stance
till it is gently awoken by the mottled skies
Trepidation lost, as waves of passions prance.

        Wrens reflecting glints, of a jeweled stone;
        In stark contrast to grey's lifeless moans...

Pendulum of time sated, love leads to fears,
but just as an eagle rises on rapid's ascent
hearts too shall soar in contented tears
to capture in freedom, what it has lent

        Caged within, sorrow's soul may look meek and small;
        But, true master is he who breaks above these squalls.

    Some fine work here - I think you're raising your game - so the podium places must have gone to some outstanding poetry. Congratulations on the HM.

    Not bad ...

    did you know that wrens go around pecking the shells of other birds' eggs so they won't hatch to cut down on the competition for food? Nasty little things, I'd say. Of course crows are worse. They steal baby songbirds to feed to their own babies. Nature is definitely "red and raw in tooth and claw."
