I hope to be there
To warm your frozen heart
To mend your wounds
To help you rejuvenate
And restart
I hope to watch you
While you grow
And choke out those weeds
Around your soul
I hope to be there
And catch you
When you fall
I hope to be there
For it all
I want to shelter you
From the storm
Be the dancing butterfly
On your wings
To renew your happiness
And joy
Too often
We lose ourselves
In a frenzy of emotion
And too often
We find our eyes clouded
And jaded from the world
I will be that beautiful rose
To look upon
On a gorgeous evening
When the sun is shining
And the moonlight
Is beginning to fade
Remember
That when you are a friend in need
I will be there
To shelter you from the storm
To release you from your burdens
From the enormous weight of the world
I will be there
To catch you when you fall
To experience your pain
And guide you through the fog
Side by side
As our friendship
Remains forever strong
As always
You will bounce back
With that unforgettable
Smile on your face.
Please tell me what you think

A great display of support for a loved one here. It's always good to have friends that inspire this type of dedication and loyalty. On a technical note and not a criticism perse, I would cut out some of the extra words and the repetitive words. For example you could lose alot of the 'ands' here, and also the 'to'. I was told this repeatedly when I first joined AP, and have taken it to heart and I feel it's improved my poetry.

Thank you so much for your advice and critique, especially since I want to be an author.
This really helps me and I am sure it will improve my poetry when put into practice. I really appreciate your help and will take your comments to heart. I am glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your praise. She is a very special friend to me indeed and was going through a really rough time.
