I Don't Believe in Love

What God hath bound let no man turn asunder
words of no meaning to this crying heart.
There is no hope.  No inspired wonder
in which I care take any such part.

There is a person for every soul in wait.
What fool spoke these things I want to know.
Only star struck dreamers could ever create
a lie everyone wants to follow.

I love you; a phrase to poison the best mind.
Words of forever that do not last.
It's all a deception and now I find
that love eternally . . . is of the past.

Author notes

I find more and more every day that I do not believe in love. I write poetry on it, and hope of it, but I no longer have faith in it.

These are my sentiments exactly. This is a good write. I like the rhyme and flow. Thanks for sharing. Shancy.

"I love you a phrase to poison the best mind."
^ add some punctuation like "'I love you' - a phrase to poison the best mind." to make this line clearer.

Some days, I would completely agree with it, but I still have some hope. I think there might be a soul for everyone, but maybe not on earth.

Did you read my latest? Seems like we're having similiar thoughts.

Love falls apart more than it stays together, and I can't blame you for feeling that way, but its there.
    A very nice write.
