Kng Arthur and the Knighs of the ound Table

  King Arthur’s Court
And The Knight’s of the Round Table

W. Peter Sanci

One of my favourite periods of history has got to be the
Middle Ages.
Where men were men and knights in amour did duels
on horseback.
The king’s word was the law of the land,
A popular pastime was walking through mazes.
Their were dragons everywhere, and quests galore,
For this was the age of chivalry as well, and there
Was always a damsel in distress somewhere.

King Arthur ruled in the beautiful city of Camelot.
It was built high on a hill to protect it from being sought.
The Knights he chose were his police force.
The people there were rude and coarse.
But Arthur ruled with truth and grace.
And Camelot prospered, under his solace.

But there’s another story to tell here.
About one he trusted, his fall from grace.
We know the story of Lancelot, his right hand man.
How he stole the King’s love of his life, his queen
Queniverie from him, and then the battle for his
realm.
Saw Arthur die and no longer at the helm.

So my friends you be the judge of Arthur’s Tale.
Was this a happy tale or one of woe.
In the end what happened to mighty Camelot.
We know not, only we remember the mighty
Stories that live on in our hearts.
