It may seem that hell's a popping
But it's only Christmas shopping
With female shoppers by the score
In every mall,every store
Buying toys,winter clothes,
T.v. sets,fancy hose,
Cookies,cake filled with fruit,
Perfume,horns that toot,
Dolls ,cologne for their guy,
Anything their plastic will buy.
In the store from nine until nine
Browsing or in the check out line.
There's a lull on Christmas day
When their gifts they give away,
But hell's fire again will burn
Next day when gifts they return
And jostle each other while
They search for bargains in every aisle.
Seems a hectic time,but remember
Christmas comes only each December.
But it's only Christmas shopping
With female shoppers by the score
In every mall,every store
Buying toys,winter clothes,
T.v. sets,fancy hose,
Cookies,cake filled with fruit,
Perfume,horns that toot,
Dolls ,cologne for their guy,
Anything their plastic will buy.
In the store from nine until nine
Browsing or in the check out line.
There's a lull on Christmas day
When their gifts they give away,
But hell's fire again will burn
Next day when gifts they return
And jostle each other while
They search for bargains in every aisle.
Seems a hectic time,but remember
Christmas comes only each December.

Not bad ...
although not what I'm looking for in this contest. However, I like it. Good luck with your writing in the future, and with this wherever you go with henceforth.

You really caught the essence of Christmas shopping down pat.
-
Your poem have a wonderful humurous touch to it because it's all true. I use to be right there with the best of them but in the past years I've slowed down and do more shopping online. Congratulations on your HM.

I see Bill
Like almost everyone here, you have spotted the buy, buy buy line of Christmas, caught in the loop of commercialism.
I do thank you for entering.
Ron.

Ah the joys and stress of Christmas shopping! Such a wonderful time of the year. Hour long check out lines, going from store to store looking for just the right gift for everyone, crusing arround for hours looking for a place to park, and than parking several blocks away from the store you need to go to. Ah, such fond memories of stress! This was a great write! Thansk for entering my contest! Merry Christmas and good luck!

lol, that made me laugh, I liked that, its so true and when someone has the talent to make sad truth just so funny thats skill, wonderfully written!!

Don't you love trying to beat the madness of holiday shopping? I just went out the other day (ha I'm attempting to actually do it ahead of time this year) and would you believe it was only 8pm and the stores were full of carts and kids running mad and everything! I was definitely proven wrong, that there is no good time to go shopping!
I thought your poem was oh so true and it made my heart start pumping, just thinking of your imagery of stores and all those people pushing their way through! I like it that it does that though! Interesting take on the holidays, and I do hope your shopping goes a little better than described here. I really enjoyed this part of the piece:
But hell's fire again will burn
Next day when gifts they return
And jostle each other while
Have you ever worked retail anyone!?!? You will know the horror of the day after christmas if you have. LOL! *smiles* Good luck on your shopping and this piece just really hit the nail on the dot!

Well written! Truly unique.
Billbard,
A very true poem. Christmas time is hectic!
So many people go shopping to find the right gift.
And, as you said...
Next day when gifts they return
And jostle each other while
They search for bargains in every aisle.
Seems a hectic time,but remember
Christmas comes only each December.
... so very true, my friend!!
I kind of tend to stay away from those times -how can I, but go shopping and get out fast! lol.
This probably opened up everybodys eyes about the holiday shopping, how stressful it can be too! Thank you for this. This was a truly unique poem! Amazing.
GOOD LUCK IN THE CONTEST!!!!
Sincerely,
Nelak
BRAVO, BILLBARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shopping is a very dangerous sport these days that's for sure.
People are nuts...lol
This is very unique.
Thank you for entering my contest.

Shopping can sometimes take the joy out of Christmas.
I really liked your poem.
It shows a different side.
-
Very funny. I love the hustle bustle of Christmas shopping. I usually go out on Christmas Eve, my hubby thinks I'm nuts! He has nothing whatsoever to do with my shopping, except paying the bills. LOL Great write! I can see us everywhere picking up everything. I loved this my friend, keep sharing the visuals. Good luck with the contest.
much Love,
Renee
