I am tainted,
he is sin in my very skin
and he knows not how changed I am.
All for him.
My delusional heart is held by him,
my body yearns for that fire and ice touch.
I'm nothing but a game to this man,
but he is my special brand of heroin.
I am alone in this twisted love
but not in our sick lust.
Being thrown away is my destiny,
yet my addiction still holds.
So I will suffer to be tainted,
beg no god to save me now
let his touch burn the sin into my skin.
I am all for him.

I think a lot of people can relate to this and will like the poem because of that.
For me, as a reader, I feel like I'm being told everything. Poetry is about showing- for me. I'd like to see how the narrator is alone in twisted love. I'd like to see how the love is twisted. Why does the narrator want to suffer and be tainted? What is it about the lover that makes him worth this?
No, not everything should be spelled out. But with imagery and metaphors carefully placed, the piece could offer that to the reader and enhance the quality of the poem. -
Parts of me can relate to this any many ways. I know what is like to be in love with some and have him/her on your mind constantly. Thank you for entering .
