not alone

Missing image
walking in solitude
I find love

all of me
alive and alert

on the edge
earth
heaven

this new place
peace and passion
warm and wonder

alone yet aware
souls break through
their presence, a home
this journey, a uniting

a path
lined with trees
and wildflowers
along a river
on a spring day
or
wide open
on that soft
curved line
where the tide
meets the shore

a blend
seen and unseen

the sun, my beacon
gently cups my face
as if saying, look at me

the breeze, my friend
holds my hand
easing
come with me

  • There are some great images of nature in this but just the aspect it's written from and the sentiment itself is fantastic and all too rare.

beautiful voice, I especially love the two stanzas at the end which speak of sun and breeze, the sun gently cups my face, yes, so beautifully expressed the idea of the sun as one offering a nurturing caress, I really enjoyed reading this sweet peaceful poem.

I love the way you embrace the things most people don't even notice as they speed by on their way to somewhere else, like this line -

    wide open
    on that soft
    curved line
    where the tide
    meets the shore

You brought me back to a day in the south of Ireland. I was exploring a cove near Donegal which was hidden from view by a golf course lining its inner edges. Millions of tiny, brilliantly colored shells had accumulated on the beach with nobody to collect them. Thanks for reminding me of that day.

Simply beautiful, my friend. I need to read this when I feel lonely. It is a good reminder we are never alone. What comes to mind is that Jesus said, "I will never leave you or forsake you." and "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."
I don't feel alone when I'm in creation. I have a sense of peace and belonging. Beautiful write. Once again you connected with my soul. Stop doing that.

    Peaceful and lovely

I like the message of the first couple of lines. This poem reminds me of the feeling I get on a spring day walking on the trails behind my home. I feel like I am part of the surrounding beauty. Thank you for your entry.

THIS is breathtaking. This is beauty. This is hope. This is why there is life.
Ever seeking souls finding a way. I am astonished. The way you so peacefully describe the most uplifting and awe inspiring miracle there is, because those things only exist within the other, with such calm AND enthusiasm- I feel this as warmth. Everywhere.

I love the song. Great stylistic achievement; you demonstrate a great aesthetic approach to the topic, a sensitive ear for the rhythm, choice of words is precise, no redundant words. you present two worlds in a poised manner, what is revealed and what remains to be revealed are equal and both positive. I could say more, these are just introductory comments. I congratulate on the poem. Genie =)

wow, great wording! I love that you have found the peace and love inside yourself and don't expect someone else to totally provide you with that. Contentment in yourself will make any 'outside' relationships all that more special, as you will just be adding to your world.
    great write!
