The Eyes of the Dead

Don’t close, when death

claims them with faces

grimaced like bizarre

pale kabuki masks and

humanity sinks lower.

I like how the title flows into the opening lines. Since I wrote a poem about a departed one too yesterday I can very much associate with "the eyes of the dead don't close..."... I won't ask, just say that somehow I can associate with this lovely and somehow mysterious poem.
