The Romans occupied Jersey (named Caesarea) from around 56AD although it was not a significant outpost. The ending on the current name of Jersey "ey" is viking meaning island. The islands enjoyed a fair amount of independence although technically ruled from Lyons.

God wasn't the current myth at the time.... maybe Apollo, or Zeus, Or Amon-Ra was who actually betrayed Jersey to the cruel Romans. Or maybe God was there but the coin flipped to the side of tragedy instead of comedy...

I was just explaining the name of the Island, but commenting
on the Jersey of today, with the horrifying news coming
from that beautiful Island.
