Metal visions carry
daylight's bright bronze,
slick, polished, golden with shine,
new, steel, resielient to attack
until age stakes its heart,
and decades later pulls out its dark
to reveal copper expectations devoured by rust.
Author notes
For better or for some expectations and dreams are like copper, beautiful and bright until after time theyw ither away as we as humans are drowned in the deep waters of greay life and routine, waters which turn our expectations and dreams to dust.

Wonderful write my dear...I adore this metal as well, I would agree with Rue with its power!....
I also found an added treat with this write...I believe your author notes are a wonderful poem as well...
I see before me a poet who knows no boundaries and a soul whos eager to shine...smiles
Peace and many blessings

Thank you! I also got the Frozen Fog updated witha poem. This is one of the deeper poems I have conjured and I love it. I think I am on an ego trip, but it's brilliant.

I can appreciate this apt metaphor.
Copper is my power metal and I love
both faces~~~the shine and the verdigris.
YOu keep the focus tight here and the tone
dark; keeping the reader's attention at hand.

Thank you! This was a really interesting metaphor that came to me out of nowhere (in German class of course) and I had to write it. Now I have some tankas done, but have to fix their syllable count to be perfect.
