Breaking the Silence

Missing image
It’s time to…
Let go of the little girl inside
Allow the strong woman to emerge
The survivor must survive
No more cat and mouse
The bill is no longer in my name
Time for them to pay
The price is far too high
For a tender heart such as mine
Every tear must have a purpose
No more regret for lack of voice
Time has passed for wasted emotions
Make this mean something
Create awareness
Bring good from pain
Inspire change in attitudes
Eradicate the fear
No more dark secrets
It’s time to…
Break the silence!

breaking the silence is the hardest part, but when you break the silence and their are no marks people think your crazy or have some huge hate or seek attention. Being scared to voice your opinions and never trying or attempting get a person no where, thats what i interpreted from your words in this poem.
-I think I might break the silence , tonight-

    • All the best of luck to you tonight...i'm glad this poem was able to inspire you to find your voice. It can only lead to empowerment.

      Take care,
      Annie

    first class poem

The very nature of the soul reaching into change and moderation of change leading to the responsibility of others, deep within this poem is a message of spiritual awakening, pain changes into endurance of one soul fights to have a greater understanding of who the real person is. A feeling of hope and joy and at the same time ultimate rules and condition before change even begins. The inner child longs for changes which is normal feelings of growing into adulthood at the same time a set of rules or condition is made by choices made in the poems flow of words. Think this poem is very spiritual and new birth also seems to be happening in this poem. Thank you.. hope that doesn’t sound to dull, thanks

The only consolation that has any meaning comes from a soul that has suffered to aquire its depth

    Ah! What a powerful poem!

And determination speaks from every line. This should be in the diary of every abused soul in this world.

    Well done, Roselady.

There is a spunkiness to this poem that reaches out and says "I am WOMAN, hear me ROAR".... I like the word and it is quite inspirational to read. Fear can seem to rule us if we allow it...we have to be in charge of our own life. Fight on!!! Well done poem.

    Excellent

The first step to moving on is acknowledging that you can. Here in this poem the emotional realisation of this shines through. Yesterday has gone and no matter what regret we cannot go back and change a thing. when this is understood as you seem to have here then you can move on to the present and look forward to a brighter future well done with this write Brian.

"Time has passed for wasted emotions

    Create awareness..."

Exactly! I think the victims of abuse must do just as you suggest. Try to increase awareness of this insidious crime and encourage others to seek help and speak out. Some good might then come from all that wrong. I hear you poet!
