The tears I shed
out of my eyes
are red.
Red shows the
love I have
for you and the good
times we had together.
The tears I shed
out of my eyes
are black.
Black shows the
darkness in our
relationship and
our painful last
break-up.
The tears I shed
out of my eyes
are clear.
Clear shows that
I am a new me
and that I am
getting over us.

Like Gaylene I am unsure how this really fits in with the influential person in your life; it is a good write, strongly expressed, personally I think the final stanza does not need to be in capitals as it speaks loudly as is.
