Your poem is akin to a Haiku the more that I look at it. -
Getting closer than those before you
but still not a Haiku.
Perhaps
"their excellence
the summer's flow'r
is to the summer sweet"
is the best I can get from that sonnet.
Three lines, but the task is difficult.
