redemption runs like mascara on an honest whore

it's just a blur,
the salvation you offered,
and as I walk down the boulevard,
I recognize,
it was your charity
that kept my knees clean,
broken spirits
clutter the gutter
and redemption
has fled out the back door

I like this. It's simple, yet impactive and enticing. It's very sad, but I love sad poetry. :] Thanks for entering and good luck in my contest.
