I walk beneath the moonlight
Into a new day
I enter into the dawning
Of a new age
I blaze a path to follow
Into a new Horizon
Granting the hope of a new
And better way
I ride upon the rising sun
Bringing the nights new tomorrows
And return with faith riding
Upon the chariots of the wind
Ridding all of time
It's sorrows
I beam through the gleams
To subdue the darkness
Departing small traces of hope
That lay leading
Small vessels in the distance
Searching for the way home
As a faint glimmer of moonlight
Flickers through the fog
I launch with approval
To disgard possibilty and chance
Transforming vagueness
And its stumbling blocks
Into stepping stones
Charting no course to follow
Casting sails into the horizon
To greet the chariots of the new day
Welcoming the golden hues
Of a diamond sun rising
I stand upon the Northern lights
Awaiting a new
The challenge of a receding tomorrow
That beckons to summon
A pull upon its reins

A perfect poem for my name (Auburn Sunrise)...
I love the imagery and the hope that fills this poem. Very well done. I especially love your use of earth/explorer terminology such as "charting no course", "casting sails", "Northern Lights", "departing", "small vessels" - these come together to help create a solid extended metaphor that really makes sense for this message.
Great job and good luck in the contest!

Gratitude
The grapes extend their vines
To reach toward the sum
To touch the face of the universe
By such releasing
In songs of melodies and rhyme
Harmony that may be sung
With love and its taste for lips
And spiritual wine
Thank You for
Your comments and time
