Howls in the night,
running in the dark.
A face filled with fright,
viscious teeth - menacing bark.
Across the river,
beneath the trees.
The white herald watching,
as I give up the chase.
Maiden-white snow,
cold spreads to my core.
I weep and ask myself how,
all sound goes numb
except that terrifying roar.
Hear only myself panting,
rising shadows all around.
Yellow eyes gaze through the fog,
the panting stops.
Moment of silence,
moment of repentance.
The snow soaked
with the red blood
of innocence.
