Treading through
the rough waters
Which were formed by 'love'
found in those vacant eyes
Nothing can revive this
all life I held was relinquished
Nothing can replace you
I keep fighting the time.
Oblivious to my deadening soul
refusing to release you.
A strangely familiar face,
with a voice enveloped with comfort
attempts to deliver me.
My entity as a whole speculates
if I have ever known it before.
Nevertheless I choose to ride the tongue of the devil
and cherish this vexed and deserted heart.

wow, this is a superb take on the prompt. it seems to me that you used the flow of the song, i love it when someone does that. taking the flow of the song, but putting their own words to it. i do that sometimes. this is a great write that i thoroughly enjoyed reading. best of luck in the contest.
