Back in the Day

If I could go back
to the way things were
I'd never ask to grow older again
Each childhood memory
is a tear drop crushed
And I never got to say goodbye

The weight of the world
smothers the dreams
My tears are only bigger in this day
I want to go back
to believing in everything
Instead a heart is pushed down its hole again

And if I could go back
to simple naps and nonsense
I'd never watch a lovey Disney movie
Each fantasy becomes mine
to spoil my hopes and prayers
If only she knew the trouble yet to come
