Jump into the
Time Machine
Oh yeah,
1972
Getting ready
For the
Golden age
New York City
I'm on stage
Guitar's growling
behind
me
Bass
Just going
A boom boom boom
Drums
peanut butter
To my
jelly
I lash the
Revolution
At
Faces
the
Crowd
Oh yeah,
Loud
Raw
It's nails
On a
chalkboard
And I'm
Opening
For
The one and
Only
Iggy and
The
Stooges
My bassist drags
My tired
body
from the
Stage
They play
Such
RAW POWER!
Pure ecstasy
joy
happiness
An aural utopia
It all ends...
As everything does
Ants tear
down
the night
Progresses
Time Machine

Author notes
yeah, if I could be anywhere right now, this would be it. Oh and not to be spiteful or anything, I just wanted to point this out... do you realize how hard it was for me to keep this PG? I had to cut hanging out with Iggy and The Stooges and simply replace it with the lines "and the night progresses" XDDD oh man 1972 man, and I kept it PG, it's almost a shame

Sorry, my contest, my rules, I'm not interested in all the x-rated details. This was a great poem, though, I really liked the form and the picture you paint of being onstage. I know quite a few musicians, so I enjoy reading about music and making music. Thanks for entering!
