Breaking apart
piece by piece;
my soul; my very self
is torn asunder.
I try to hold together
but, I find this loneliness;
this isolation
far too much to bear.
It weighs me down;
and stops me,
from leaving my sorrows.
Like a cage around a bird.
I'm ripping apart
oh so slowly.
It's a fate worse than death
to lose yourself like this.
My soul can't take the pain
this forced separation.
I'm so alone;
so lost and frightened.
Why can't someone find me
and light up my world.
Why can't someone unlock my cage
and let my spirit soar.
I'm a free spirit
trapped by loneliness
and bound by sorrow.
