The Journey And The Judgement

Missing image
They have made passage through,
moored the physicalities,
with souls awaiting judgement.

Across tumultuous seas they travelled
for a lifetime, to reach this door.
Upheavels have been many,
in both alarm and tranquility
as they now float in hope of peace;
this final resting place.

Through the window of my life
I have stumbled in so many directions,
the burdens almost more than I can bear.

My staff of knowledge has guided me here.
The past is bottled for posterity
under veils of questioned decisions.

So here I await my own judgement,
balancing on the seesaw
between trepidation and expectation.

This work will stand alone, but, it feeds the picture to give it depth and leads the reader into an understanding of the painting. Wonderful description-The the window of my life I have stumbled in so many directions, the burdens almost more than I can bear. This places the reader where their life follows, when nothing goes well for them almost beyond what is bearable.

    Excellent write

Very good and full of meaning and metaphor, thought the flow was a lil off in a spot or two, really identified with this stanza, seems I have the same window,
"Through the window of my life
I have stumbled in so many directions,
the burdens almost more than I can bear." enjoyed this write very much

Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest

I read this a couple of times just to get to the real depth of it....quite a pensive place you went with this[but I guess one that we all sort of go to now and then and wonder and hope]We are indeed "souls awaiting judgement". And inspired by a Dali picture.....I am a big fan of his [for just as one does with poetry-he leaves so much opened to interpretation]Best wishes and much love
