You call me

Virginia Woolf and my
heart is in flight
my Carter and Butler
friend, of my soul
you have gotten closest,
I never let anyone
get to me, the best
mechanisms in the world and
I put them up too
to you,
I put myself up to any offer,
I cannot take the chance
on anyone,
especially not you.

Inclusive of all those
I fear
but yet I never see
it coming, that moment
when you tell me
I have value, that one day
I will have Einstein t-shirts,
Nirvana posters
and we battle over
texts and the post-s
of ideas, too dull to
make a brain spark
except yours and mine.

It hits me when  I
realise you need me and
its too late to just
walk away,
a thousand times rehearsed,
in theory and always
real-life, never scribbling in
blue or black ink,
latched on to a half-baked
thought, just babble.
My Carter and Butler I am
your Woolf and Rhys
and thank God
I found you.

It is always a blessing when one can let down their guard and be vulnerable enough to let true love in. To risk being hurt for the sake of finding real love. This poem is very well written, and it describes a journey of the heart, and is so full of hope. Great job1 Blessings, Patty

    This is really good!
I love the flow of it, and the short lines make it easy to read. They also keep the reader wanting to read the next, then the next..etc.

    Keep up the good work!

I'd love to read more from you in the future!
