In her first few months of living, tears of confusion for this new world fall
And in the years of childish effrontery and courageous journeys
That she partake in when finally learning how to walk – tears fall,
As scraped knees and “boo boo”s come into play.
Up she grows,
And as does her body,
They grow into something she thinks she can’t control.
The harsh realities and dramas of the world all come crashing down
Leaving her in a sullen state, as once again, tears fall.
Her body changes, without her permission, an unexplained pains torment her belly
And in a plea of frustration, without letting anyone see,
She runs to the sanctity of her own solitude, and lets her tears fall.
On her own now, knowing the ways of life it seems,
She moves on into the world… finds a lover… and goes to fast,
Living for today and not tomorrow’s satisfaction,
She can’t control what happens now – her belly swells
And her lover backs out.
Clutching to the unwanted thing that now lives in her womb
She bows her head, and lets the tears fall.
Five years later, come home from working her doubleshift,
Can’t wait to see her daughter, all of four and a half years old,
But the lock is broken, and the door is open,
Her daughter lays on the floor, barely breathing
And with a scream and a rush of panic – those damned tears fall.
Making through the harshest of times, and making the worst become good
She now sits in the stands with the other parents
Watching as her baby girl graduates from high school…
And for one last time…
Lets those tears fall.

Wow
You've really covered the heartache one experiances through life that one faces but you only have covered that dark side. Life is full of tears both good and bad. The good tears are the ones that you cherrish forever and never forget much the same as the bad tears.
As usual you are a master at writing a very deep thoughtful and powerful freeverse poem. You deserved better in the contest than what you got.

wish you the very best
A really a scholarly verse, with neat description of the biography of a woman in stages.
Iwish you the very best in my contest -
