I drown
in the tangle
of a thousand wilted water lilies,
never wishing to surface
to an Earth
barren of your footprints;
I choke
in the twilight of yesterdays
rich, with warmth of our togetherness,
never wanting to inhale
air
devoid of your scent;
I sink
deeper to muddy pools
of frothing loneliness,
never hoping to float
in water
lacking your cleansing spirit;
I plunge
down my watery grave
whispering your name,
never longing to burn
in a fire
other than your lips....

Nicely penned. My only suggestion would be to maybe play with line breaks. Overall it was quite good.

oh my!

You have turned a love poem into something much bigger than a love poem!
The remorse of the possibility of losing a loved one is almost tangible in this write.
Enjoyed it thoroughly - thank you for sharing
