Nightmare (Contagious Like The Plague)

You attack because screams fulfill you
And you strike to watch me bleed.
You bite to break my skin
And sew death just like a seed.

You'd kill to see me suffer
And you'd love to see me dead.
You're contagious like the plague
And now you're living in my head.

To pain, you're a composer
Singing torment like a song.
Now it's stuck inside my head
It seems your voice is much too strong.

You're a terminal disaster
My disease, leave me alone.
You have poisoned every thought
And now I feel you in my bones.

Interrupting every heartbeat
You're invading every dream.
Now you're just a living nightmare
That has ripped me at my seems.

You have torn off every smile
On my terror-stricken face.
And you wrapped your hands around my throat
When laughter attempted escape.

You have taken every bit of life
That I have ever known.
At my feet, life bleeds to death
It's dying, all alone.

You never could control the urge
To tear apart my soul.
To obliterate my mental state
And leave me void and null.

I know these days that peace of mind
Is a distant dream I've lost.
You have shattered it like all the rest
To oblivion, it was tossed.

Darkness, it consumes me whole
And swallows what is left of me
It fills me with the deepest hatred
And a loss of sanity.

This sounds awesome when read aloud...not that it doesnt when read to oneself. But the rhythm is amazingly perfect!

    Good Luck,
