When God took your hand & you passed away,
Reunited with Megan, our dads, & oh so free,
Sometimes I think that you have abandoned me,
But then I remember all the times we talked,
When you died everyone including I were shocked,
You were always there for me & made everything bright,
When things seemed wrong you seemed to make right.
I miss you girl, I never thought there would be a day,
When the sun didn't shine & things wouldn't be okay,
You liked the name "Angel" but I never did think,
That this would become reality within a blink,
As much as it hurts, I know that on this earth you are gone,
I know you wouldn't want me to weep but to be strong,
But life is empty without you here being your joyous you,
The day you died, was hell, I never thought was true,
But as I face each day, Reality slaps me in the face,
That you are no longer here in this cruel place,
I know you'd want me to be happy but YOU ARE NOT HERE!
My sister, my comforter, my best friend I need you near.

I am so sorry, and I am in tears. I lost my little brother who was twenty four, 22 years ago, he was shot and killed and I still mourn, and reading this made me erupt with that same feeling. Keep your head up. All I know to say is she is in a much better place where there is no pain and heartache. I agree with astralshephered. Why haven't people at least commented in the way of support to this wonderful tribute to your sister. If you ever need just a shoulder, call on me.
All My Love,
Renee

As I read this poem I could actually feel something drip from my eye down across my face. I know what you had to go through. My best and only friend once died and I was left on this cruel earth alone with nobody to turn to. You put all your feelings into words. Stay stong!

Remember that you will always be in my prayers for strength and guidance to over come this horrible loss. I don't want to fill this page with futile words to try and comfort you but know that I do and hope that someday you will be able to be happy again. It really does take time and what you do with that time.

Awwww I want to cry now.
I have no idea of what you must have gone through to lose someone so close, but to write it so beautifully... Really made me think.
I keep tingling when I read the words, even they flow so easily, but are so sad. Keep writing.

I can really feel your pain in this poem. About a year ago I lost a person very close to me, I felt the same way that this poem you wrote said. VERY good writing. I will enjoy reading your poems. Keep writing and never forget that even though you can't see her, that she is always there watching over you, and protecting you in every way that she can.

What a heartfelt, heartbreaking write! I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband, grandma and Mother at the same time and I couldn't imagine not having my writing to help me through the toughest days as I hope you can find some if even a little comfort in yours. My heart to yours.
Wishing you a gentle healing.

with 96 viewings, i dont understand why more have not left a comment, a word, anything in the way of encouragement. No one can
ever truly know another person's pain. This poetic tribute is as
close as i have seen...no, felt. My heart breaks for the loss.
I am so sorry for the pain you must be enduring. Thank you for sharing and letting me comment, ~richard -
Oh God this is so sad and nothing anyone can say to ease your pain except to say I'm sorry for you loss. This is a lovely message to your sister, really heartbreaking.

i'm sorry about u losing vicki -
So sad, I was always told only the good die young, and thats the saddest part. Why young? When they have all of their lives to live. My friend lost her son not long back and she still is heartbroken... I'm sorry for your loss, but she'll always be near, whether you can feel her not, as she'll always have a special place in your heart.
Sorry for your loss... -
i think this is the first of yours i've read, so many new poets on the site of late, and so little time...
you obviously loved your sister a great deal...
i can definately relate to your words, especially since i lost my wife to a massive heart attack a little over three years ago (at this writing)
if there is anything for a brightness for me amoungst the clouds which hung over me for so long, it's the fact that 8 months later i wrote my first piece, at the age of 45...
yes, i know i always try to look on the bright side of anything that stands in my way, find that within yourself, and happiness will once again find you
many blessings

i don't really have any words to say. Except that she watches over you every day. She protects and send her love down, and waits for you when the time is right when you too will join her.

Well written
Sara Dawn, I think Vicki would be so happy to know that her picture graces this poetic tribute to her. Seeing Megan and Vicki's picture reminds me of the happy times of highschool. Mine became sad too but for different reasons. I hope one day two friends come your way that you just know Vicki and Megan sent especially just for you.

I can feel this deeply, because I lost someone recently who was like a brother to me. This was the first holiday without him, and it was really hard. I wish I could tell you that it gets easier, but it really doesn't.... the times inbetween mourning just get farther apart. A poem written like this to someone who is absent is called an apostrophe poem, and it can be cathartic. You expressed a lot of love and a lot of sorrow in this.
