Search for spice

Search for spice

A man's search
evolves and expands
with each experience
that causes his heart
to beat perilously faster
as his loins achingly burn
and his head perspires
Dripping mists of memory
into eyes that watch himself
sneak into corners of closets
exploring the Sears catelogue
Where women would without emotion
display the latest undergarment
Before Playmates undressed
monthly hidden under sheets
safe from prying parent's eyes
now looking over shoulders to check
for fleshy computerized porn
Which always gives way
to staring classmates in high school halls
Boys searching for visions
of warm flesh close
and alluring to ignite
locker-room infatuations
Like the way the pointed tits of Gini Z
who used to smoke so cool and defiant
at the supposedly off-limits soda-shoppe
Enjoying the attention
of those boyish hands trying
to explore those peaks
Or how we would stare and marvel
at the body of Bonnie B
as she wore her skirts so tight
that a delicious curve of thong-line
pressed against our imagined lips and tongues
Traveling that alignment
of scented skin hoping it would lead
to that peppery taste
of growing addiction
that spreads from the eye
than to the throat
and finally deep down into the belly
Revelling in nights
where blankets were unfurled
on foreign sandy beaches
When the object of desire
tempts and leads wary travelers
out beyond harsh daylight
to sample a more mature pleasure
as the specialities are displayed
For moans and groans of desire
Those shimmering skins
of various colours and shapes
offering promises of ecstasy
from feeling a different high
so that you can't hear your own screams
because of the delightful pain
And everything is deafness
after you are allowed
a taste of fresh chile
its fiery juice
lingering in remembrance
Hot enough to send
another Columbus
on his search for spice.

well, this is really heady. i remember when i was a kid, and it was like that, and after the chili, there was sort of a place you went, not wondering why the chili was so hot even when it was cold, but why everything couldn't be like that ... why was it necessary to be tormented and delighted at the same time ... then i realized one day when I was older, like about twenty, or so, that it was, because it was important for sexuality and sensual life to be separate from hum drum things. this poem is extensive and effortless and filled with images which are all cohesively fit together into one of the most wonderful, long long sentences I have read in a long time, and though it may not be one sentence, it is ... a multifaceted thought which unfolds and once it gets going just gets into your eyes and down into your body and that's all there is to it. rocks, this!!!

yep, it does. love your finale!!!

    peace ,,,Moqui
