Words do hurt.
That old rhyme is witless
just like people
who do not know
how to give a critique.
They wound purposely
and with intent.
They use their words
as sticks and stones.
The best thing we can do
is to duck...
let the words pass.
Ignore them
it's the best thing we can do.
Sometimes we can use the anger
as a muse
If we learn to laugh
at the ignorance ...
and keep penning.
Do not let our eyes
be dimmed by tears
they are not worthy
of our tears.
