A poem for my Grandma

You're gone in body
but not in mind
and a year later
we still find...
Our love for you,
it hasn't gone
your memory still
lives on and on...

It's lovely, Kayla, in it's remembrance and being from your heart. You spoke from deep within your soul, I think, with this one.
And Jen is right.... as long as we can remember them in our hearts, our minds, they're never really gone. My grand parents have been gone about 47 years and my mother about 27 years and when I think about them, I often feel them in the room, close. It's a nice feeling I miss them a lot even after all this time but their presense helps so much.
I know.... there's a lot of people who think that those of us who accept that, perhaps have a screw or two loose but that's okay
    Love and
    Dee

    Good Job:)

That's sweet. A couple years agomy dog died, and I wrote a similar poem. It's very personal, so I don't post it. I'm glad you had the courage to present yours, though. You are obviously a great poet. Best of wishes as you remember your grandmother...

    very true

they are alive forever in your mind. and eventually you smile instead of cry, when you think of them
