The Revolution

They tell us what to do:

How to look.

How to eat.

Don't walk.

Don't run.

Pay taxes,

Conform.

Vote,

Conform.

Have pride,

Conform.

They govern us,

With an iron fist.

While still keeping,

An illusion of free-will.

Do not do what they tell you,

Find your own path.

In the midst of your mind.

Create a morale code.

Follow it.

Your laws will be more just.

More true.

Than the ones they install.

Do not fear,

The punishment they order.

It is meaningless,

In an unjust world.

The worst punishment,

That can be concocted,

Is the one,

Taken on by oneself.

Self-disappointment,

Has the potential,

To tear the soul,

From your body.

If that can be done,

Then why can't we,

Stand up and shout,

"Revolution!"

For Freedom,

For Justice,

For Liberty,

For Life.

Tear down the government,

Which has become,

So easily swayed,

And corrupted.

By hundreds of years,

Of terms after terms,

Of oppression.

"Revolution."

Let the whisper grow,

To a scream of rage.

They cannot stop,

The Revolution.
