A Poem for Bea's Contest #30 – a NON-ENTRY.
I’m trying to write a poem for you, Bea,
but cannot think of anything to say.
You know full well how much you mean to me -
the trouble is, my Muse has gone away!
She left last week but didn’t leave no note
and so, I don’t know where or why she went.
I only know that everything I’ve wrote
since then is crap and isn’t what I meant.
My mind’s a mess, I can’t get words to flow,
and all my thoughts seem witless, daft or slack.
I’m trying hard because I love you so
and wish, with all my heart, my Muse was back.
I’m sorry that this poem is not my best
but can’t think what to write for your contest.
Hugh (R.) March 4th.2008.

Dear Babe,
It's a shame Heath and I had to go away while Joan and Sharon were there but it was unavoidable and came up at the last minute.I'm happy you all had a wonderful time and it would be hard to say goodbye.
A cracker of a poem even though you said you had nothing to write about.
Love Hine.

you think your muse is a slackard
but don't stress to much
it can't be totally remiss
to write a this poem as such
so take a little break for awhile
give your muse and your pen a rest
they'll come back well refreshed
with more of your poetry at its best

Sweet riddle
You have done what you claimed to be unable to do. I like poems about missing muses, because they are self-contradictory and I find that funny.
This time I started a haiku about roses and ended up with a villanelle about magnolias - the muse chooses!
Cheers!

Dear Hugh,
I think you're just plain tired!!! You've been quite a busy guy with all the entertaining you've been doing! I think, after some R&R, you'll be good as new and your muse will know exactly what to do!
Love and Hugs,
Maureen

Dear Hugh,
Well, your muse didn't let you down this time either, even though she went away she is always with you, guiding you, loving you as a Muse is meant to do.
You certainly did well for someone who had nothing to write about.
I loved reading it anyway.
Love Jen

Masterly conundrum!
Gee whiz Hugh, we feel bad for you; too true
but sad fact is that we all've been there.
Many are we dependent you see, counting too
on "our next" poems sent by Muses to share!
(We should remember Old Mother Hubbard,
though equally lonely wasn't the only
poor person whose cupboard was bare! )
I thought your sonnet was great, so there!
Mine worked overtime for that.

Well you're ahead of me. I can't write a thing these days. Doubt I'll be entering anything unless it is a bunch of random letters.

No, that wouldn't be pretty.

You'd better enter something IMA or I'll get
onto you and he'll gobble you up.

We'll see, there's time, my mind may unfreeze by then.

Dear Hugh,
Thankyou for your poem my dear friend, even with your muse away you still manage to write a beaut Sonnet.
I know the feeling of losing your muse as mine seems to be missing too! Maybe they've run off together to some exotic Island to clear their head for awhile.
Love Bea. XOXO
