I feel the Caribbean glow,
somewhere in my soul,
I sense beginning
Of the annual festival;
expectant ''primavera"
trees about to commence
Shimmering yellow bells
ringing, blossoming;
briefly and brightly
Like a million starbursts
reflecting wonderful light
onto flat suburban land.
This, the fleeting horizon between
dryness and the humid intensity
of subtropical summer.
