Lights like a halo
frame her.
Floating,
she spreads her wings.
The dance floor,
her sky.
Her innocence,
obvious in the minds of others.
She's just seventeen and dancing.
Unaware of the boy's eyes
that outline her.
Her every feature,
he knows them all.
Sunshine smiles
liven his heart,
her loveliness
brightens his eyes.
She's just seventeen
and dancing.

I echo Ron's remark on this. Delightful innocence-

SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I can picture in my mind this young and beautiful lady dancing alone to the slow, sweet music on the dance floor!

I do agree, this was really a great read, pure and inviting.

Delightful innocence.
This is a lovely, centered piece of free verse making the most of the title. There is nothing to say but that this verse is very pleasing to read and to behold. You use various techniques subtly.

Thanks Ron.
I enjoyed writing this poem and so, I was very thankful for this contest since I haven't written in ages.
