Solace and happiness,
Hover like a vision in the eyes
Of tiny glinting stars in the galaxy.
The empty space surrounds
The quiet pulsing of this dream,
In which my submerged feelings
Seem to hover and sway and glint.
Love and sadness,
Archaic spirits to which we owe life,
And the brilliance of deep feeling,
The gems which have held the spirits
Of all mankind,
Yes those very two are nothing but ideas,
Wishes inside the wishes of a dream,
Actions of a thought, inside the thought
Of another sleeping being.
The sunlight shining on my face,
Or the pitter-patter of the rain
As it falls on greedy leaves and thirsty trees,
It is as if I sense it through a glass screen;
I see but do not feel,
Because reality is stuck in the ticking of this dream,
And the conscious soul which thinks
Up all these wishes and emotions and lives,
I wonder if it is not miserable inside its eyes,
Nothing to entertain him but the thoughts he creates,
The men and women, and their battles and dances,
I wonder, what am I?
And as I sit and wonder, inside my own thought,
The empty silence surrounds my shadow,
The vacuum of darkness shades my eyes,
And I lay as nothing more than a fickle dream,
An idea tethering on a window sill,
Forgotten and resting in the deep chambers
Of a very troubled mind.

Really do love this whole stanza. Awesome. You have a real talent.

I can really relate to and understand this. Some things aren't the same, of course, but I find myself thinking these things every day. I liked how it wasn't too complicated and over-metaphored (if that's a real phrase) but it was still intelligent and mind-grabbing at the same time. The ending line tied it all nicely and concluded the thoughts for me.
Thank you for entering, and good luck
