Water Fluoridation(Drinking Ourselves to Death)

Enough fluoride in one tooth paste tube
to kill a small child
though we're told that it "promotes healthy teeth
and gums" and is mild.
That's why protesting doctors and dentists and scientists were put on blacklists.
Fluoride in reality it is only a by-product
of the production of aluminum and atomic warfare.
While men that could be bought in the field of science conduct
produced tests of their sold imaginations,
to whom Uncle Sam pays his buck
to keep their mouths shut
and to poison the useless eaters
who are out of luck...
Distant memories of elementary school days,
small white cups, filled with bubble-gum taste.
Gargle and spit don't swallow- it's the next dental craze.
The fluoridation of our water
puts "the people" in a haze.
First introduced to Jews in the Holocaust
and when you have realized that you will know
it is our humanity in government we have lost.
Why is it we Americans trust blindly in our leaders?
When everything hits the fan
who will be under big brother's finger?
Will you let your mind be open
and let the truth-seekers opinion linger
long enough to do homework of our own?
A man named Dr. Stanley Monteith can help you with this.
Or will you choose to join the thoughtless majority?
Join the countless millions who never question what they see.
By going along to get along, we have allowed a great tragedy!

I have done some editing...I am thinking that this sounds a bit forced but I have let certain things slide in order to stress the importance of the issue. My apologies!

I think you made a very good point through your poem! If I do get your personality right, you must be a very opinionated person, who knows how to share their thoughts and with what arguments to do so. I was impressed by the way you put the message into poetic form, although...
The sillable count was a bit off, which made it rocky while reading it out loud. But that shouldn't be a problem - you can always turn this into an article, and make long phrases, so the rhythm/rhyme thing won't bother you. I didn't actually think of the effects of "water fluoridation". Thank you for making me actually realise what I've been doing for the past 14 years of my life - congratulations on the poem, thank you for entering, and best of luck!

That is a very powerful message you have said there....Something strong and something powerful must be behind it ..... Welldone and good luck in the contes

For counter arguments one might take a look at: this.

People have now been subjected to fluoridated water for over 40 years and the life expectancy keeps on increasing. If there is really something amiss with fluoridated water, I should be dead three times over.

The existence of counter evidence is apparent. there are also lots of people that claimed otherwise and lost their jobs, or were just put out of business because of blacklisting. Believe what you will. I have done hours of reading and have come to these conclusions over a long period of gathering puzzle pieces. Unless you too have done an extensive amount of research I am not really up for debating it or even trying to change your mind. It is in fact your mind therefore I will leave it to you. If you do decide to spend any amount of time looking at both sides of this coin (if you will) check out what Dr Stanley Monteith has to say on the subject. Check out what the folks who oppose water fluoridation in NJ have to say. Of coarse our life expectancy is longer! We have new and better medicines. New and better technologies! We have the advent of dentistry! In area that are fluoridated there are more instances of infertility, add/adhd, hip fractures, dental and skeletal fluorosis. I would go on but I know that commonly all I receive is irrational unresearched rebuttals. I expect no differently from you. I do respect your take and value that we can have a difference of opinion. It is our last strong hold in freedom to be able to express ideas concepts facts and opinions openly honestly with no fear of persecution. Thanks for taking the time to comment!~Leah

This was really informative to me. I never even knew flouride was bad for you. I think it was great.. and I loved how it started with a specific topic and became more and more general until you covered the true purpose.. that people shoudl think for themselves.

Thank you for your comment. This means a lot to me. 98% of Europe is fluoride free. If you would like do the research for yourself... and then ask your self one question....why? Thank you again for taking the time to comment! Leah

I can really see that you care about this subject. I only learned a few weeks ago that we have flouride in our water. This is defitately something that is unique.

Thank you for entering my contest.

This is a totally different take on writing than I normally 'ingest'. This is a didactic piece that is just as good as preaching, though you do ask a few questions within the revelry, most of the body of the write is simply making points. I don't know if I would change much in this case due to the nature of the write itself I see that it lends force over content structure. I am sure a lot of writers would disagree with me on this point as one of function must follow form. My advice therefore on this write would be rendered meaningless if you want a serious critical view as 'poetry'. I appreciate someone who has done enough homework to make a point in art rather than just give me a lecture paper. I can 'swallow' this format far easier, and did follow what you were sharing. Which by the way I would have never read some dry paper on the subject. In this instance you win on that very count even if the style points are fewer. RC

Why don't we just study some Texans, and see what a lifetime of Fluoride has on people.

    Brush your Brain!

"to kill a small child" the only fix. I like this unusual topic. In Hawaii we have fought flouridation. Why put flouride in the water? Shower, water lawn, wash dishes with flouride? Thank you for this illuminating poem!

Hi! Thank you for your correction! I really appreciate That a lot. I think that it is important to look at these issues. I personally don't want my or my child's body to be dumping ground for toxic chemicals that we don't know that effects of on biological systems.

    Most excellent!

I have been telling others these very same words for years. Such a shame that so many blindly trust a government, that in no way, has their best interests at heart. Hats off to you and this excellent piece , ~Bret~

sometimes I wonder if I am the only one that thinks this way, that knows these things. I talk to people about fluoride in the water all the time and watch there blank faces blink in a haze. I SO fucking appreciate this poem!
