If Love Were Money, I Would Be The Poorest Girl In The World

Your sparkling eyes like melted gold,
And shimmering bronze hair rich enough for a king.
Cool marble skin as soft and hard as white alabaster,
Your scent of honey so sickly sweet
I fear loving you, lest I gain addictio0n to your perfection.
You are a shimmering, unbreakable diamond,
The graceful songbird that soothes me,
The blazing sun that warms me
And yet the one that I do not deserve.

Author notes

I'm not even sure why I've been writing love poems lately, I don't even like anyone and, quite frankly, I'm not very fond of love poems. I find love poems far too sappy and sad. Oh well, I guess I'm just trying out something new.
