I would sail in a ship
across the sky
watching the stars
come out one by one
Dancing and playing
in the sky
as the baby stars
fall asleep in the clouds
I would use my telescope
to search the sky
looking for shapes
that the stars make
I would write them down
one at a time
recording them
in my log
Then in the morning
I would watch the sun
as it begins to rise
greeting me with a smile
As the days goes on
the clouds begin to change
and then it starts to rain
but it is ok my ship sails high above and away
I am protected from the rain
and get to look real close
and see the how small a raindrop
really is and try to count them as they fall
After the mighty storm
the sun begins to shine
and then a rainbow appears
and it colors the sky
Taking away all the gloom
from the storm
the sun smiles
and does a dance
Celebrating the stopping of the rain
beautiful rays are everywhere
as my boats continues
to sail through the sky
I see clouds of different shapes
they begin to fill the sky
I lower my boat
so I can go through them
They look like cotton candy
and within the clouds
I see birds flying all around
without a worry in the world
Letting my ship just sit
I look all around me
everything is still
but life is moving
This is my place of peace
I decided today
when ever I am sad
I look to the sky
I know there is
something more to life
as I sail again
across the sky
Into the sunset
Leaving the beauty behind me
my travel today is done
tomorrow another trip
I am not sure
where it will lead
as far as my imagination
will take me
Now it is time
to rest my head
for it is time for bed
another day goes to sleep
The wind blows gently
singing me to sleep
and the stars
come out smiling
With the moon watching
over me as I sleep
keeping me protected
as the clouds cover me
