The easel blank,
muse in deep reflection,
emotions tumbling
into quivering hands.
The soul stirs as fires ignite
onto the canvas,
an explosion of pigments appear.
Slowly the soul escapes
through fingers of raw emotion
and the brush becomes the tool
of self expression.
Colors combine
in a flurry of strokes,
form begins to appear
and the artist becomes
the critic.
Is the soul excited?
a connection between
ethereal and substance achieved?
Caressing canvas
displaying inner peace or turmoil,
the harshest judge,
the artist.
Yet with fervent feeling
and soul laid bare,
maestro awaits
critique.

"Slowly the soul escapes

of self expression." - This is just lovely!
You've painted a picture with your words here, I could vividly imagine/see the artist here, painting their soul onto the canvas. Nice work!
--Again, I am dissapointed to see no comment from the host of this contest... This is an amazing write - People need to appreciate their entrants...
Much Love, Amber

Excellent
Very creative and well done. Best of luck in the contest.

Another beautiful piece, it takes someone with an inner artist to know exactly how this piece would go and you have captured it to perfection, beautifully penned, goodluck in the contest
