Missing image

Engulfed, I am a shadow

Within the dark loom

Of night

 

Calmly settled in a

Gruesome rest

That delights

 

My cold soul bent

On indulging

Sinister desire

 

As moon accentuates

Features while

Fate does conspire

 

With duty and the

Raw courage of

A berserker unbound

 

Entertaining the thought

Of death as I lay

Upon cold ground.

    I keep coming back to this. Very poignant. Alot of veterans have ghosts that need to be laid to rest. With hope, may they eventually disappear. J

    How well I know.

    I can say that this is not uncommon for the veterans of war and if you will the wars here within the states. Especially drug wars and extreme crimes. You wrote a very deep piece.

    Aww I can imagine those dark memories are haunting and very unsettling indeed. Many vets will be able to feel this poem deeply I don't doubt.

    I certainly left me feeling affected and I know nothing of being involved in war!

    Your rhyme was great in this!! You master any style with ease and grace!!
