I remember the old beginning
As if it was yesterday
Your hand in mind
Warm and strong
It was a new beauty
You smiled down at me
Happiness in your eyes
Then your hands grew cold
Your eyes grew angrier
Your mouth formed angry words
I ended the nightmare
Of being with you
Now I'm free
It's a new beginning
My life is clear
Away from the murky hatred
I'm surrounded by flowers
Dancing with my hair down
Flowing like a river
Gentle and soothing
No need to pick myself up
Off the floor again
There's no more fear
A smile
That lasts
The end has come and gone
Now I have a reason
A way to start over
Give myself
A new beginning.

A literal statement of moving on with life. A good message and a great enlightenment but as for the poem. Eh, it's alright.
Very cliche at some parts.
Thank you for entering the contest.
