My proboscis I dip,
as your nectar I sip
from your colourful stocks
of sweet fragrent phlox,
and I nip flower to flower, wings blurred.
I'm not afraid see,
a moth net will get me,
for though prettier than you,
I'm much cleverer too,
and disguised as a cute humming-bird.

A delightful poem with a very unusual and refreshing rhyme scheme. Congratulations on winning the silver trophy. You surely deserved it with this excellent piece of poetry.

I'm a fan:
This is lovely to read. It's like being in paradise. Thanks for sharing. I loved this poem over-all. It was my escape, and my vacation to paradise.

Funny that the name my grandfather and Native American gave me the name Hummingbird because he said I was always fluttering around. Moths fascinate me. Good combination

I agree
a shorttish poem but characterization is there. Pleasant rhyme and complete little cameo occasion!

You certainly did give this little guy/gal some character.
I did enjoy this. Thank you for your entry. ~Pamela
