Little Kings and Queens of the hill proclaiming victory
sandbox creatures of nature with pails and shovels
playing with transformers preparing to rule the world
jumping upon trampolines our future GI Joes and Janes
Backyard ballerinas creating their own moves
gymnastics for tots tumbling matt heroes
champions in the making learning how to fall
a big wheel mad dash racing to the finish
Each individual gifted with natural ability
innocence sweet and loving not yet corrupted
devastated and heartbroken by a two letter word
learn from the children while they're still young
Troubled by a world that can't survive without war
teach children right from wrong yet set poor examples
parents be mindful of actions and words spoken
children learn from what is seen and heard

aye, we all learn as we grow older, i remember the days when it was guns for boys to play with and dolls for girls, yet when we grow up they say no that is not the right way, they should make their minds up on what they want to teach us. a good poem.
