With November Comes

Transitioning whispers lingering

as nature’s dirge drifts

slowly across

melancholy fields

where seasonal travelers

coldly contemplate

warmer climes with

understood anxiety as

flights of fancy are formed

and vitality is traded

for yet distant promise

of renewed vigor

as winter’s blanket

looms in autumn’s fringes;

and I shiver~

Author notes

I was born on a cold, blustery morning in November.

I'm shivering now. Winter is so cold. I love her but yet wish she would leave. It's a love\hate relationship...Best wishes in the contest.
  • It is strange to hear November depicted as cold. I now dont want winter to arrive. Great write!!! J

  • Oooo I got all chilly reading this! Still sounds beautiful tho! I think your part of the world must be stunning in it's different seasons my friend!
    Another stunning piece!

  • As the pictures on your authors page show your locality, I for one would love to experience the seasons as you portray them. Here in my country they are not as well defined and seem to be drifting one into another.
A great poem depicting the month, and you alsp made me shiver.

    Thank you

This is one of your usual standard MJ and although it is brilliant........can we please have spring and summer before we have to think of those times again? The years pass all too quickly. Good luck with this.
