Among the colours on the palette of life
are those which best express us:
the pink of dawn hidden in a woman's awakening;
a touch of yellow from a blow of assumed love;
snow white, the shade of shock;
earthy brown, the bronze of sun worshipers.
And, then are the colours perceived:
a black scowl that is not black;
the blue of melancholia that shades still pink;
and the green of envy that never touches skin.
Yet, the colour that best illuminates the soul
is the peach of life.
It is the shade of a healthy newborn;
the blush of a girl's first kiss;
the flush of mature love.
It embodies the delicate nature of love,
gentle and soft.

I liked the many nuances and shades of this poem... the awakening, the shock, the perceptions (and I know how it is with perceptions..they become a reality) and then the light of the soul, the delicate peach of a newborn (and I SO love babies)!!
You did indeed give us a palette of colour to enjoy. Thank you for this entry.

reasonably said
you qualify and shade in with qualifiers
there's a bounce of obviousness and then the swoosh of watch for this then and all ages make it their level of no complete fence with brush strokes.
you go beyond the psychological but to poetic with interjection regarding calmness associated :
"a touch of yellow from a blow of assumed love" when guy's might be guise breath by suggestion too...
there's something as from a package in each stanza to reference reader's feelings or current reaction and "the blue of melancholia that shades still pink" had a brilliance as of being looked at.
and finally faintess that is dizzy sweet and sturdy : "the blush of a girl's first kiss;
the flush of mature love." it fittingly echoes how insightfulness of what's special isn't simply spoken but delivered as lyrics, subtle with connector texture outside cursive or manuscript even caligraphy let it come off the page and not only to air of reader but dancing... not just a movement but to join further than maybe.
you have color or colour(s),
babies are my subject -

You have done a very original and creative job. I love this. My favorite line is: "the pink of dawn hidden in a woman's awakening. I really loved reading it. Shancy.

colors perceived, colors which illuminate ... and in their ironies, depths and press upon our flesh, hearts as their pigments reflect back out into the inner ear our eyes become .... you have defined the essence of color far beyond its simple pigment ... you have gone into the realm of light, how it is absorbed but for one frequency which is the color we see as it reflects back, free and clear ...
yet this one free and clear thing has so much irony and depth ... bravo, a beautiful, wise and playful mind at work here in this write
I sincerely love this poem
peace
