So often she dreams
In day and in dark
Her thoughts linger on
Perhaps that of the heart
Filling her head with theories and scenes
Of lovers long lost and fanciful things
Her heart longs for more
But she'll never see why
So she lives in her dreams
With his sweet cider eyes
Rare her mind strays from that mysterious face
And honey drenched eyes with lips silky lace
Come again, come again
A whisper, a breath, so simple and pure
But he never returns
And she's never quite sure
She slips between sheet folds
So soft and so cold
To dream one more dream
In day or in dark
Of his sweet cider eyes
And the warmth his kiss sparked
What did you think?

It's been a long time. I remember that we went trick-or-treating for cans once.
Anyway, you know, I like the rhyming in this piece, not contrived, and not overly simple, but also not pretentious. I'm partial to the couplets.
Nice.
