We ate the ashes of a savior
who buried the bones in the loam
and here we pray to pills
We speak to burning bridges
cigarettes and tinder, just to find relief
Tangled in the glass and maggots
we writhe and gasp
and till the silt in bloody gums
licking rust from old lesions
We're lobotomized, castrated, ostracized
These cracked skeletons cry
and bury bones in the city of death in dust
Our name is lost in ash
Here we pray to pills
because God failed
