No concern.

I think i'll host

a contest

only for my friends

gold to the favourite one

and to the least

a HM.

I'll make it

pay it forward

to get gold in return

and to those

other contestants

I will have no concern.

My page it will be shining

with gold cups galore

people will think i'm brilliant

only for those great poems

I have ignored.

Author notes

Yeah i agree with you,

this kind of thing is rampant here on Ap. Some great poets and their work is Ignored.

I would rather be awarded for the greatness of the work than that of the ego and favouritism.

Good luck.

    Brilliant!

This really got me thinking...do these kind of practices take place on AP...I often wondered why some poets have so many little gold cups when the stuff they write is absolutely dire!...yet I have read others who are marked with sheer ability yet have not the same volume of awards...its a conundrum to be sure...lol!...loved this wee write...its brilliant!...love Dan xx

Fantastic poem and so true! Im glad other people share my views. Trophys mean nothing to me, I read, and write purley for my own enjoyment. I enjoyed this a lot, so thansk for sharing it.

Very cutting these lines - liked the rhyme and flow, but especially enjoyed the message this send out to those who give lots of trophies to their friends on this site. Does happen, have to admit, now and again. Makes one wonder if they should really enter some contests or not. I now look at the person hosting and do admit, don't enter some I know do this. Thanks for passing this message on this way.

good job. i enter contests and i think my poem is really good but it seems like the judges only glance at it and not really consider it sometimes.

    just wonderful ...
    you're a good observer ...

oh, you forgot to pay homage to those poets who enter their own contests with different usernames to keep the jackpot in the family ... no, I am sure this doesn't exist on ap, does it ? ...
    am I bad ?

    all the best ...
    love and hugs,

    I am surprised

Let us play the glad game and be glad we don't win all the those golds as it might make us vain. Pollyanna

I feel the writer is very brave and has a highly developed sense of right and wrong. It makes me admire her even more.
