The daffodils
bloom each spring
at the fence
where you leaned
to sip my cool lemonade.

right now the daffodils are blooming around campus... wonderful to have patches of bright color amid the green and brown, bare branches.
love how this piece builds up, and sort of sneaks up on you. also, the image of leaning on the fence sipping lemonade and the impact of "my" is great. and how daffodils sort of "lean" in a way.
just wonderfully done, lovely piece. -
Due to the large number of entries, I won't be commenting on each piece but will certainly be reading and rereading them all. I wanted to thank you for your entry here, I hope to have the contest judged fairly soon...

This does evoke thoughts of reminiscing, and of the pleaure this reminiscing can bring. An enjoyable poem.

oh...I really like this one..something a little reminiscent about it, for sure....I love how the daffodils are so much like 'cool lemonade'..and those places we look and see where we once stood, perhaps, (usually, with another)...reminding you of that person, also, I like how daffodils are perennials bulbs, and come back each spring - bringing those memories with it.. a nice moment here, wonderful imagery ...best of luck in the contest.

I like the picture this evokes when I read it.
