The Lost Chord

I spent a lifetime searching
for my Lost Chord.  I had
heard it once before...
experienced the euphoric bliss
of the tones dancing upon
my ear drums not unlike
prima ballerinas...light and airy.
But...something happened...and I
was no longer able to produce
this beautiful music any longer.
And the search began.  Fingers
raw and bleeding from
neverending floating over
ebony and ivory...blood stained
C Key a reminder of my failure
to find that beautiful mixture
of bass and treble that would
ring in my ears like the blending of
Soprano and Alto in the
Hallelujah chorus.  Falsified combinations
coming close to my chord, but
not quite there...and I began a process
of elimination that seemed unending.
In a moment of extreme fatigue...
just when I considered
walking away from my search
for good...erroneously it came.
A finger slipped.  And there it was.
My lost chord...

and the grand music of Life was complete.
My harmony...lost no more.

Please tell me what you think

    Passion replete

How sweet it is to fight that gallant fight to the bitter end when your mind aches and your fingers bleed yet it is not given onto all to reach such levels of satisfaction.

"In a moment of extreme fatigue...
    just when I considered
    walking away from my search
    for good...erroneously it came"

These lines did speak to me of the strength it does take to find what it is feel is lost forever yet never knowing it is and always right there on the edge of our fingertips.

I like it, I like it so!

Wonderful. I love metaphore. And, it's true, that sometime, when you are near total frustration, the harmony you are looking for is suddenly there. This was a good poem.
